Sweden Listed In Top Destinations To Travel In 2018

The 2018 travel trends are out and we’re excited!

Trend #1: Sweden is so hot right now! (destination wise and nearly weather wise)

We here at Nature Travels aren’t surprised that Sweden made it into this year’s travel trends (even if we are a tad bit bias), according to this year’s ABTA Travel Trends Report.

You could say it’s a country that has it all, from beautiful, warm sun-filled days exploring the vibrant capital city of Stockholm to the northern winter wonderlands of Abisko, the best place to see the Aurora Borealis.

Sweden really is the perfect destination for all the adventurers and explorers out there, whether you’re after a kayaking tour to paddle your way around Stockholm’s archipelago or you fancy an expedition travelling by husky sled to witness the breathtaking northern lights.

They have a word in Sweden – “lagom” – which translates to “everything in moderation”. They have built a country upon this virtue, so of course it would be infused within their travel and tourism. If you’re looking for a 5* all-inclusive holiday then this isn’t the place for you but, if you want to truly immerse yourself in the culture of this Nordic country then this is the year to do so.

Trend #2: Winter is the new Summer

Another emerging trend this year is that winter will become the new peak season. Yes, you did read that right, winter’s in but summer’s also still in! This means that countries that can offer amazing snow-filled experiences are on the rise, so we wouldn’t be surprised if Norway and Finland get an honorable mention in up and coming destinations.

Nature Travels offers a wide range of options for winter holiday adventures, from dog sledding and ski touring to ice skating and snowshoeing!

Trend 3: You can go your own way

Solo travel is reaching an all-time high, with more and more people opting to spend some quality downtime with, well, themselves, there is higher demand for solo travel options. This could be a tailored product that is purely for one person or a group tour that is made up of single travelers from around the world. Speaking from personal solo travel experience, it is such a great way to get out of your comfort zone and interact with people from all different walks of life.

At Nature Travels we do not offer dedicated tours only for solo travellers, but any of our guided experiences are very suitable for and popular with solo travellers, including guided hiking tours or kayaking in summer, and ice skating or dog sledding in winter.
